Dear Rene, I wanted to write to thank you so much for the part you played in my beautiful home birth. The care and attention I received was truly touching! I was so pleased when you agreed to be by doula – I couldn’t imagine having a birth without you after having been my midwife with my 3 older children. Having you there along side the nhs midwife – knowing you had been present at over 200 births, with your wealth of knowledge and calm nature; I felt truly supported. I could relax a put my trust in you knowing you knew my wishes and hopes for my home birth. Both myself and my partner felt safe knowing you could communicate with us what was happening as the birth progressed. Your aftercare and breastfeeding knowledge meant; I’m writing this 7 months postpartum whilst breastfeeding my baby! You really are amazing! Thank you so much for everything!
